HindSight is an America murder ballad for a queer quartet of four male performers ( tenor, baritone, clarinet, piano ) that explores the intricacies of Nathan Leopold and Nick Loeb’s relationship leading up to the one hundredth year anniversary of the “trial of the century.” We survey the themes of upper-class entitlement under the guise of psychological theorem. Leopold and Loeb’s case is still studied to this very moment in law schools, been immortalized by Hitchcock and other theatrical mediums, but seldom examined from a female’s perspective. This relationship of codependency is put under the microscope and see how it’s spirit has survived in this modern day.
Leopold and Loeb, notorious for their familial wealth and intelligence, set out to commit the perfect crime, just for the thrill of it. This case examines the abuse of power and privilege — a seemingly timeless echo reverberating within our nation.
